SB20 CLASS ASSOCIATION IN THE NETHERLANDS HAS WON THE BID TO HOST THE SB20 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2023 AND WE WELCOME EVERYONE TO EXPERIENCE FANTASTIC CONDITIONS THAT THE NORTH SEA HAS TO OFFER. THE SCHEVENINGEN CLUB LOCATED IN THE HAGUE, THE HOSTING VENUE FOR THE EVENT, IS FAMOUS FOR MANY OFFSHORE REGATTAS AS WELL AS FOR WELCOMING THE FINAL LEG OF THE VOLVO OCEAN RACE IN 2018. THE HAGUE, LIKE NO OTHER CITY IN THE NETHERLANDS, OFFERS A UNIQUE COMBINATION OF CITY AND BEACH EXPERIENCE. CAFES AND RESTAURANTS, GALLERIES, SHOPS, MUSEUMS AND BEAUTIFUL COASTAL PROMENADE PROMISE SOMETHING TO EVERYONE WHO LOVES CULTURE, SIGHTSEEING AND NATURE. THE 2022 DUTCH SB20 EVENT CIRCUIT WILL WELCOME FOREIGN TEAMS TO TEST THE WATERS OF THE NORTH SEA IN A NUMBER OF REGATTAS, THAT YOU CAN FIND IN OUR EVENTS BELOW.
UPCOMING EVENTS
WHAT IS IT LIKE TO SAIL SB20 IN THE NETHERLANDS?
SB20 NETHERLANDS HAS A BUSY CALENDAR OF EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, STARTING IN MAY UNTIL OCTOBER, WHEN THE WEATHER STILL ALLOWS US TO SAIL IN THE INTERNAL WATERS AS WELL AS ON THE NORTH SEA. OUR TRADITIONAL EVENTS ON THE CIRCUIT INCLUDE THE REGATTAS VAN UDEN RECO, WITH TWO EDITIONS PER YEAR IN TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS (STELLENDAM AND MEDEMBLIK), THE ANNUAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN MEDEMBLIK THAT RUN ALONGSIDE THE DUTCH SAILING WEEK AT OUR OLYMPIC VENUE AND A NUMBER OF SMALLER REGATTAS AND TRAININGS ON WINDY DUTCH WATERS. WE ALSO JOIN EFFORTS WITH THE BELGIAN SB20 ASSOCIATION AND PARTICIPATE WITH OUR DUTCH FLEET IN THE OPEN BELGIAN NATIONALS THAT USUALLY HAPPEN IN THE SUMMER IN BEAUTIFUL COASTAL TOWN OF OSTEND.
